This novel is the kind of Islamic novel for youngs. Specially ‘pesantren’ novel. It uses framing method. So, there are cuts of small novel again in this novel. The novel in this novel is entitling “El Wardah”. El Wardah means “Rose”. El Wardah is the original tittle of Mawar Surga. The publisher give the tittle Mawar Surga because El Wardah is not marketable. So, its becomes the tittle of the small novel only.
Little about the content of Mawar Surga.
Mawar Surga tells about Rufaidah’s daily. The arrogant, boyish, smart and talented girl. About her meeting with her essential people. Her new mysterious teacher who always caring her, In every her activities. Her teacher who always suggest her to having changes of her personality.
Rufaidah’s teacher is the writer of El Wardah. His name is Habiburrahman Fajrie like her idol, Habiburrahman El Shirazy. El Wardah is telling about his past. There is the love story and struggle to finding the trust. About his wife and his twin children. And, about his other ‘Rufaidah’.
For Rufaidah, Habib is still a mystery. New teacher which sudden come replacing Mr. Hisbullah who dying because of the accident. He is different with her other teachers. But for Habib, Rufaidah. That Name so close to himself. Near by that small roses in his heart. If people always say rose is thorny, although beautiful. Habib blames it. He state, rose is beautiful, although is thorny. Wardah or rose is pride of glamour, love, and beautiful.
This novel written in for about five months in a large numbers of pages and half almost of them cut by the publisher. First launching of this novel is on May, 19 2008 in pubic library of Malang. Then, this novel is launched four time.
